Death on the doorstep

It has been sometime since the boys (cats) had caused any major death.  A while indeed since even a mouse or a vole has appeared, although I seem to remember the snout of a mouse being there in my not too distant memory, but nothing could have prepared us for the bloodshed we foung yesterday morning.

It was like someone had had a pillow fight with feather pillows.  They had clearly devoured a pigeon and left not much to the imagination with what was left.

True to form this did not mean that they did not want breakfast as normal.

The kindness of a stranger

Made a bit of a plum of myself today.  I was jut coming stopping my bike to get off and as I put my foot down it hit the pavement at a funny angle, leaving me falling one way, my knee the other and the bike another.  I was lying on the ground in pain and slight shock when a man asked if I was ok.  I said I was but could do with a hand up.  He said that he couldnt help me as he was carrying a roll and sausage.  I was frankly dumbfounded.  Fotunately another stranger did come to my assistance and helped me up.  The sausage man then said he had stolen my purse too.  This was only  joke.  He clearly loves sausages and has a very stange sense of humour.

I limped home and am still limping.

Basket tips

I cycled down to try and see my many friends that were taking part in the Great Scottish Run at the weekend.  As thoughful as ever I took some bananas shoudl any of them be in need of some quick energy.  A note on bananas and bike baskets, they do not mix.  By the time I got there the bananas were turning black from all the bumps.  How sad.

Does this look like a bin

I got a bike for my birthday.  It is wonderful.  I love pottering around on it, trying to find the routes with little or no hills.  However, what I love even more is the basket I got for my bike.  With no picture I will describe it thus, I was asked the other day " Are you a dutch lady?"  I took this to be a compliment, but basically the basket is a traditional wicker one with plenty of space for the essentials.  I love it.  I love it so much , if I could have had the basket without the bike I would have.

You can imagine my horror last week when I returned from a meeting to get my bike to find that someone had used my basked as a bin, there was an orange peel dropped in there.  I just dont get it.

Peanut fright

There is so much that I have to write about that I hardly no where to start but I wanted to share this.

Ray and I were in France at wedding at the weekend, on the flight back it was announced that they would not be selling sandwiches or very much of anything as someone on board had a peanut allergy.  Now I know peanut allergies can be pretty nasty but good grief.  We had already been delayed which meant we were going to miss our connecting flight and had been held in a Ryanair holding pen with no food or water.  Surely the peanut person could wear a mask or soemthing instead of inconveniencing over 200 people.  What is the world coming to?

Last day

It is my last day in my job today.  I don't mind admitting that I am feeling a bit sad.

However, I will be glad to have one less thing in my head.  At least for three weeks.

two weeks today

It is inevitable but I am spending much of my time going two weeks today I will be flying to my honeymoon.  Two weeks today we will be dancing to our first dance etc.,

I am very excited now.  Things are coming together too, although I have a lot still to get done, especially at work which I leave on Friday eek!

Sadly it is proving impossible to get anyone to do anything in the house so that might have to stay as is, oh well, so what if we still dont have a splashback 15 months after the kitchen went in?
